Back Home

Well, I've been back home for over 3 days now and my time at Fitness Ridge is becoming more and more of a memory. It's been good to talk with people here at home and process what I learned on my trip.

Here's a list I started putting together at Fitness Ridge and finished at home:

Things I learned (or realized) at Fitness Ridge:

1. I knew much more than I thought I did about exercise. I was very well prepared for all the exercise experiences I had.

2. There are many, many things you can do with tofu.

3. Tai Chi is probably not for me.

4. I really can exercise more than once a day - actually way more than once a day!

5. It really IS easier to eat healthy when someone else is making the food and determining the portion sizes - but that doesn't mean it's impossible to do on my own, in real life.

6. It is amazing what the human body can do. More specifically, it is amazing what my body did this last week.

7. Exercise does decrease appetite.

8. I like stretching...a lot!

9. In general, the more difficult the hike, the more beautiful the scenery. Challenging yourselves on hikes is well worth it.

10. This is just the beginning...it really is a going to be a lifelong commitment.
